Fall in the Adirondacks

Our campground is about a mile from Whiteface mountain.  It has some snow and ice on the peaks already.  1980 Olympic downhill skiing was on this mountain.

A couple of photos of the Wilmington Notch with the west branch of the Ausable River

The Ausable is also prime flyfishing water.
We'll be starting out for home on Wednesday..

Montreal

We spent 3 days in Montreal this week

We had a great hotel- lots of room and we were able to park the car and walk wherever we wanted to go.  Lots of parks, shops and great restaurants- Below is our hotel: Chateau de l'Argoat
Atwater Market is pretty amazing

And on occasion we had to keep Lucy amused with soap bubbles

The "VIC"

On Thursday we went back to Paul Smith College's Preserve,  the Visitor Interpretive Center, commonly called the VIC. It was a beautiful day and great for hiking

Lake Placid

Thursday was a clear day-good for a few photos of the Olympic Center downhill ski jump.  This is a training center for Olympic athletes and of course the site of the 1980 Winter Games

And Lucy would like to thank her Aunts Susan and Deb for her UW-EC sippy cup..but she's too busy enjoying it:

Sunday

5th Annual Rutabaga Festival
There are tastings, a fun run and even the dogs join in for the "Fetch a Baga" competition

Later in the day some clouds moved in over the peaks

But the day had a beautiful ending-
Doesn't get much better than this!

Happy First Full Day of Fall

Vermont

On Thursday Mike and I drove to Burlington VT.  No longer have to take the ferry as the new bridge is done
A view from Burlington, looking at the Adirondacks across Lake Champlain
Downtown Burlington is very busy with lots of great shops. The main street is a pedestrian walk
