The "VIC"

On Thursday we went back to Paul Smith College's Preserve,  the Visitor Interpretive Center, commonly called the VIC. It was a beautiful day and great for hiking

Lake Placid

Thursday was a clear day-good for a few photos of the Olympic Center downhill ski jump.  This is a training center for Olympic athletes and of course the site of the 1980 Winter Games

And Lucy would like to thank her Aunts Susan and Deb for her UW-EC sippy cup..but she's too busy enjoying it:

Sunday

5th Annual Rutabaga Festival
There are tastings, a fun run and even the dogs join in for the "Fetch a Baga" competition

Later in the day some clouds moved in over the peaks

But the day had a beautiful ending-
Doesn't get much better than this!

A view from Burlington, looking at the Adirondacks across Lake Champlain
Downtown Burlington is very busy with lots of great shops. The main street is a pedestrian walk

Baxter Mountain

Wednesday Mike and Luke hiked up Baxter Mountain
Weather has been crisp and the leaves are starting turn on the mountains

Birthday!

Monday was Lucy's birthday-
Luke made the cake and Sophie made the sign
Our campsite in "100 acre woods" is quiet and out of the way

And we highly recommend a visit to the Adirondack Museum
cold and raining all day and into tonight but we made the best of it at the museum and dinner out.

Leaving Wisconsin

This doesn't look good..

Stopped near our campground in LaSalle/Peru IL at the Starved Rock Lock &Dam.  It's the Illinois-Michigan waterway, formerly just a canal. It linked Lake Michigan to the Mississippi river via the Illinois River
